Academic
We are blessed with a truly inspirational staff who know and care for their pupils and are passionate about their subjects. The aim of the curriculum is to provide pupils with a stimulating and broad education in a nurturing environment; preparing them at every step for the challenges that they will face in the next stage of their educational journey.
The curriculum is the building blocks from which gifted teachers craft the adventure of learning. All topics are approached using our learning habits M.E.T. (Motivation, Engagement and Thinking).
Learning Habits
Motivation
Motivation is the HEART, creating passion and a love for a topic.
Engagement
Engagement is the HAND, the doing and trial and error aspect of learning.
Thinking
Thinking is the HEAD, the figuring something out and reading around a topic to fully understand something.
Although the learning habits are the core of what we do and form the nucleus of our learning philosophy we also build other life skills throughout their learning opportunities. These life skills are a tool kit for the pupils that will ensure as they move on from St Piran's they do so with the skills needed for a 21st Century citizen. These we call our Leadership Habits.
We are extremely proud of the academic progress our pupils make whilst they are with us. They go on to Senior schools and are awarded scholarships in many fields of study, not just academia.
