Pastoral
Pastoral care is the heartbeat of St Piran's. It ensures that our pupils are safe, happy, involved and able to perform to their potential. They are integrated well with other pupils, and any problems are spotted and dealt with.
We have many programmes and processes that assist, but our pastoral care starts with our ethos. The children are at the centre of what we do. Christian values, School Nurses who offer more than just medical care and a Headteacher who inspires everyone to give their all.
The school sees pastoral care as more than creating a homely environment. Whilst this is an important element in a school, it also needs to equip our children with the skills to cope with some of life's challenges.
It teaches children to:
- Be able to settle into new environments
- Make friends and deal with different personalities
- Navigate disappointment
- Push out of comfort zones
- Have a go
- Accept others for who they are
- Be independent but also sociable
